Sunset Moment — A Coffee Chat Story

☕ Sunset Moment — A Coffee Chat Story

You know that feeling at the end of the day when you finally sit down. And maybe with your cup of tea (or coffee, no judgment here), and think, Where did the time go? That was me—running through life like a hamster on espresso, ending each night with my brain buzzing louder than my phone notifications.

One evening, after a particularly long day of doing all the things, I plopped into my chair and looked out the window. The sun was slipping away, painting the sky in pinks and golds that almost felt alive. And right then, I felt God whisper something so gentle it almost made me laugh.

“Christina… I start My days in the evening. Would you like to join me?”

At first, I thought I’d misheard Him. But then I remembered Genesis 1:5—“And there was evening, and there was morning—the first day.” It clicked. To me, it looked like God begins His day at sunset, not sunrise. Hmm! That sounds interesting.

So I decided to try it. That night, instead of collapsing into bed with my to-do list half-finished and my mind half-crazed, I created a quiet moment. I reflected on my day, asked God what needed to end, what needed to carry over, and what He wanted to reset in me. I wrote down three little words: Reflect. Reset. Refresh.

It wasn’t perfect. Some nights, I fell asleep mid-way. But over time, something began to shift. My evenings stopped being an afterthought and became a sacred end and a beginning. I stopped dragging yesterday into tomorrow and started preparing my spirit for the night before.

The next morning, I woke up lighter. More ready. It wasn’t because life got easier—it was because I had finally learned how to end and begin well with God.

The Sunset Moment reminds us that how we end one day shapes how we begin the next. Don’t wait for sunrise to start fresh—let the sunset be a favorite place to be… begin … to believe again! This Sunset Moment is a way maker to close the day fully renewed with peace, vision, and strength.

My beautiful friend, look forward to reading the first chapter of the book. Start today! This evening, before you close your eyes, bring your dreams to the pillow (if you’ve already read the Sunset Moment, you know what I mean). Keep your journal and pen close, and expect God to speak to you while you are sleeping. Check for unnecessary lights; the darker the bedroom, the better!

And just like that… your sunrise is already blessed before it begins.
